I personally travelled a lot, like many people as you would say. I also worked a lot with shifted hours, for periods of up to several weeks. I am not unique. But I have to say that I am a man of solutions. At that time, I had a very active family life. My three children were very young. I also needed to be an active involved father while working 14 hours a day, waking up at 3 am and going to bed from 9 to 10 pm.

Sleeping: how long did it take you to find the right mix ?

I had three main activities: I earned a living writing books in the IT field and new technologies, I was a journalist in this same field and I provided multimedia consultancy services. Writing is not so easy, in computer science a little less, even. Maintaining a peak mental ability during so much time forced me to think about improving my sleep, get a better sleep. It has taken me a few years to improve my technique. Even if finally, it is quite simple… Once you get used to it. It is like biking, once you have learnt, you use it when you want, even if you have not practice for years.
